Özet
The study was carried out Samsun coastal of Black sea in October and November months. Size composition and catch efficiency of bluefish, caught by size bottom trawl having 40 mm mesh, were compared. Total catch amount and average fish amount at each fishing operation were determined, 920.4 kg and 57.5±2.494 kg respectively in 16 tows. Maximum, minimum, average total size and weight of caught fishes were established 23.4 cm, 9.2 cm, 18.4±0.223 cm and 135.5 g, 10.1 g, 62.3±2.728 g respectively. Length and weight relation of bluefish was calculated as W = 0.0037L3.3268 (r= 0.99). Statistical difference between data, catch efficiency, mean size and weight of fishes, obtained from each two months was significant (p<0.05). The bluefish is important an economical by-catch although none target species of bottom trawl. It’s essential, blue fish captured less than more whiting and red mullet, its average length was greater. As the results, not negative effective on the bluefish of bottom trawl having 40 mm mesh size, showed.
