Comparison of Night-Daytime Catch Efficiency and Size Composition of Midwater Trawl in Anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus L.) Fishing

| Özet |
| In the study, which is carried out in Middle Black Sea coast, changing of night and daytime of catch efficiency of midwater trawl used on anchovy fishery, were compared. Total 19 tows having 8 night tows and 11 daily tows were operated. Anchovy were caught total 48048 kg at night and 25400 kg at daytime tows and means weight was 6005±1060.09 kg 2309±472.02 kg, respectively. Difference between means catch quantity was significant according to results “t” test (p< 0.05). Means total size of anchovy caught at daytime and night was 11.2±0.07 cm and 10.3±0.06 cm, respectively and statistical difference between means size was significant (p< 0.05). According to results, anchovy were more caught at night than at daytime. Although anchovy were less caught at daytime, its means size was determined higher. Conclusion, rarely school forming at daytime raising the midwater trawl selection was reached |
