Özet
This study was conducted to determine crabs species distributed along the Sinop coasts between January 1999-January 2004. Three stations were selected and samplings were carried out at the bottoms of the depths of as far as 30 m by using beam trawl and small hand net. The crabs were preserved in 5% formalin prepared in seawater. At the end of the study, it was established that 8 species belonging to 4 families and 6 genera occur in the Sinop coasts of the Black Sea. These species are as follows: Athanas nitescens (Leach, 1814), Crangon crangon (Linnaeus, 1758), Philocheras trispinosus (Hailstone, 1835), Hippolyte leptocerus (Heller, 1863), Lysmata seticaudata (Risso, 1816), Palaemon adspersus Rathke, 1837, Palaemon elegans Rathke, 1837 and Palaemon serratus (Penant, 1777). Among these species, Philocheras trispinosus (Hailstone, 1835) are new record for Turkish coast of the Black Sea. However, Lysmata seticaudata (Risso, 1816) and Palaemon serratus (Penant, 1777) are new records for Sinop coast
