Özet
The reproduction and larvae development of peppered cory (Corydoras palaetus, Callichthyidae) were investigated. The study was carried out in the breeding unit of Sinop Fisheries Faculty on Ondokuz Mayiıs University. Four pairs of mature fishes. The fishes started to show reproduction behaviour when females reached a minimum average of 5.625±0.125 cm and an average of 4.875±0.125 cm in males. After stimulation with cold water process, the fish showed reproductive behaviour, assumed a T-position and started to lay eggs. A minimum of 43 eggs and a maximum of 168 eggs were laid in one spawning period. Fish laid the eggs completely in 3.5-4.5 h. Egg clutch size (the quantity of eggs laid in each period) were determined as a minimum of 4 eggs and a maximum of 7 eggs. The average egg diameter was 1.799±0.0214 mm.
