Packaging material is of great importance in preserving food and delivering it to the consumer in a healthy way. One of the most important features of packaging is that it informs the consumer about many information such as production place, content, production date and origin. Fisheries deteriorate very quickly as they are affected by all physical and environmental factors from the moment they are caught.. For this, it should be consumed as soon as possible, processed under appropriate conditions or packaged and delivered to the consumer in the best quality. In the rapidly growing fisheries sector, smart packaging, smart labels, biosensors, vacuum and modified packaging techniques, as well as oxygen absorbing labels have been developed.
