Özet
Aim: The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between calf muscle circumference, jump performance and shot velocity and to control the asymmetric strength between dominant and non-dominant lower extremities of female soccer players.Material and Methods: Twenty-nine female soccer players voluntarily participated in the study. As part of the anthropometric measurements, participants' height, body weight and calf muscle circumference were measured. The vertical jump performances of the subjects were measured by the Sargent Test and their shot velocity in penalty shots were measured by handheld radar gun. Mean values and standard deviation were used for descriptive data. Data normality and equality of variance were assessed by Shapiro-Wilk, QQ plot and Levene tests, respectively. Data were found to be normally distributed. The relationships between athletes' shot velocity performances, LLC, DVJ and NVJ performances were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis. Results: A positive and moderately significant relationship was found between the subjects' shot velocity and calf muscle circumference values (r= 0.488; p= 0.028). Similarly, the relationship between shot velocity and the non-dominant vertical jump performance of subjects was positive and moderately significant (r= 0.456; p= 0.025). However, the relationship between the subjects' shot velocity and the dominant vertical jump performance was not significant (p> 0.05). In addition, the lower extremity limb symmetry index of the subjects were within the safe range (95.16±13.97%).Conclusions: It has been determined that calf muscle circumference and …
