Özet
The increase in the frequency and duration of depression with age is an important psychological problem in the elderly. The priorities in the nursing care of depressive elderly patients with declining life expectancy and life quality are to prevent suicide attempts, enhance the patient's self-care ability, provide support for the patient and family, and to keep them advised about care and treatment. This review aims to contribute to nursing care plans by reexamining the topic of elderly depression in terms of the nursing profession.
