| Özet |
| The electrochemical event in which oxidation and reduction occur simultaneously is called redox. Oxidation is a chemical reaction that allows electrons to be separated from an atom or molecule, it is also referred to as oxidation. Reduction is called the phenomenon of an element taking electrons in a chemical reaction, it is also defined as reduction. In redox reactions, oxidation and reduction events occur simultaneously. Atoms or molecules that lose their electrons are called reductants, and winners are called oxidants. Reducers give electrons to the elements that are opposite and provide reduction, while oxidant ones take electrons from the elements opposite them and provide oxidation (Table 1). Reduction and oxidation reactions regulate many biochemical events in the surface section of water. Redox potential is determined from the concentrations of oxidants and reductants in ecological systems. Inorganic oxidants are O2, Mn+ 4, Fe+ 3, NO3-, NO2-, CO2 and SO4-2 reductants can be organic or inorganic. Organic substances that are reductants also reduce inorganic compounds (DeLauna and Reddy, 2005). |
