Özet
Ultra-Fast High-Temperature Sintering (UHS) was employed to evaluate the sintering behavior of materials used as electrodes in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and electrolysis cells (SOECs). The study focused on NiO-YSZ 60-40 wt% composite for the fuel-electrode, Gd₀.₁Ce₀.₉O₂₋ₓ (GDC) for the barrier layer and (La₀.₆₀Sr₀.₄₀)₀.₉₅Co₀.₂₀Fe₀.₈₀O₃₋ₓ (LSCF) for the air-electrode. The effects of UHS on densification trends, flatness/curvature, chemical composition, and microstructure were systematically analyzed. Additionally, the electrochemical performance of the sintered materials was assessed through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) for the cathodes processed. Notably, UHS enabled densification of both thick film air and fuel electrodes on an electrolyte-supported cell architecture in 60-120 s achieving ~1000 – 1300 °C using 27 - 30 A under an inert atmosphere.
