| Özet |
| Being parasites with complex life cycles, trematodes play an important role in functioning of marine ecosystems. The diversity, specificity and distribution of trematodes in the Black Sea have been studied since the end of XXI century and a lot of data have been collected; nevertheless, most of them are restricted to the most intensively investigated region, Crimean shelf zone (Gaevskaya, Korniychuk, 2003). Data on Digenea diversity near Turkish coasts of the Black Sea are rather pure (Özer et al., 2013; Tepe et al., 2014; Özturk, Özer, 2014). In the present study Digenean fauna of five fish species off Turkish Black Sea coasts near Sinop was investigated for the first time. Fishes were sampled in nearshore zone near Sinop coast during spring and summer period of 2014, their organs were examined for trematodes using conventional methods; infection prevalence and mean intensity were calculated for each parasite species according to Bush et al.(1997)(Table 1). |
