Özet
Drought is one of the most dangerous of natural disasters, which increasing rapidly with time. Nowadays, drought has become a global problem, not only being a regional problem but also having social, social, economic and political effects as well as the agricultural effects of the highly insidious drought. In this study, the drought condition of the Sinop province which is located in Central Black Sea region has been investigated. it is aimed to determine the relation between determination of drought and methods using Standard Precipitation Index (SPI) and Innovative Trend Analysis (ITA). Rainfall data of Boyabat, Sinop and Erfelek stations located in Sinop province were used as the application area. The longest dry periods of Boyabat and Erfelek stations are parallel to each other at SPI values of 6, 9 and 12 months compared to Erfelek and Sinop stations and SPI values of 24 months. On the other hand, the using of innovative trend analysis, was found that there is no trend to increase only in Boyabat station at 90% and 95% confidence level, while there is no trend at other stations. According to the results of the first part and second part of SPI analysis of the Boyabat station, where the arid and wet season distributions are examined, it has been found that the dry periods and the wet periods increased during the second part of the whole period of time. Beside of that, it is thought that the ITA and the distribution of SPI results are parallel. The results of this study, which contributed to the drought studies in the Black Sea Region, are based on the results of the pilot region's severity and distribution of arid and wet periods.
