Özet
The article discusses the effect of water salinity on the growth and survival of Aphanius chantrei. These species are also considered Killifish, which belongs to the secondary group of freshwater fishes comprising 900 species in about 115 genera. In Turkey, this type of fishes prefers to live in a brackish and saline waters and feeds on crustaceans, insects larvae and algae. Furthermore, there are some morphological studies that are being conducted using species of the genus Aphanius, which are used as biological control agents. In this regard, the growth and the survival of these species are evaluated in different salinities as potential mosquito predators.
