Özet
Bibliometric analysis is valuable for providing quantitative analysis of content that is extensive in volume. Particularly, bibliometric analysis of articles in high-impact journals offers a comparative dataset. In this study, data from the Istanbul University Journal of Sociology, a significant sociology journal in Turkish literature, and The American Sociological Review (ASR) are compared using bibliometric analysis. A total of 108 articles from the Istanbul University Journal of Sociology and 311 articles from The American Sociological Review were analysed in terms of changes in methods and topics over the years. As a result of the study, methodological differences have been observed, highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of sociology, and the indexes of journals producing publications in the field of sociology have been summarized.
