| 58 (2016) 1 rial by arc-glow plasma depositing process. They observed that CrN-TiN coating effectively improved the performance of wear resistance and corrosion resistance of AZ91. Baragetti [4] studied the fatigue resistance of CrN PVD coated steel and titanium in spur gears. At the end of their study, it was seen that the fatigue resistance can be increased at a depth of 5 µm TiN surface coating in titanium spur gears. Ozgur et al.[5] investigated the wear performance and thermal diffusivity properties of M41 tools steel coated using TiN, TiAlN, CrN, AlTiN and TiCN using the arc PVD method. In the experiments, they determined the wear result of each coating material by pin-on ring. It was observed that under dry sliding conditions, TiAlN and AlTiN had more wear resistance than other coatings (TiCN, CrN and TiN) which showed similar wear resistance performances. Ramesh et al.[6] studied wear behavior of Ni-P coated Si3N4 reinforced Al6061 composites. They performed the wear tests using pin-on disk type machine over a load range of 20-100 N and sliding velocities in the range of 0.31-1.57 m× s-1. They found out that Al6061-Ni-P-Si3-N4 composite exhibited lower coefficient of friction and wear rate compared to matrix alloy. Mashreghi et al.[7] reported wear and corrosion behavior of plasma nitrided DIN 1.2210 cold work tool steel. According to their results, surface hardness, wear and corrosion resistance of the material can be improved significantly. Paldey and Deevi [8] reported that (Ti, Al) N coatings by using PVD enhance the wear, thermal and oxidation resistance of a wide variety of tool materials. Saravanan et al.[9] studied the wear … |
