Özet
The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of regular exercise ofwalking on body  weight, body mass index(BMI), waist and hip circumference, waist - hip ratio and body fat percentage (BFP)in sedentary obese women. 30 obese sedentary women (age: 36.93 ± 11.10 years;height: 157.50 ± 4.73 cm, body weight: 77.89 ± 10.98 kg) participated in thestudy. Subjects participated in 8 weeks, 5 days per week, exercise intensity of75% compared to the Karvonen formula, built in 75-minute walking of workout(total of 40 exercises). During the exercices heart rate of participants werefollowed by heart rate monitors. The first measurement was processed on thefirst day of exercise programme and the last measurement was done at the end ofeigth weeks of exercise. Nutrient uptake was limited to with a diet program byan dietician, during eight weeks of the exercise session. As a result of themeasurements were made for after exercise, body weight, BMI, waist circumference and hip circumference valuesstatistically significant differences were observed. (p <0.05). In additionto this, despite the reduction in fat percentage was not statisticallysignificant, there was a change in fat percentage (pre-test: 37.3 ± 4.85% -post test: 36.92% ± 4.95)  (p> 0.05).On the other hand,  there was nostatistically significant difference in waist - hip ratio values before andafter 8 weeks of exercise (p> 0.05).
